Honestly: how gorgeous is this shoe? Is it any wonder it’s called the Beauty? After multiple seasons of harsh, dominatrix-like gladiator platforms and stilettos, my eyes actually beamed with joy and relief when these beauties came strolling down the Louis Vuitton runway in Paris this past March. Loving the retro throwback! Set on a 4.1 inch heel swathed in leather, the satin body of the shoe–note: no platform here–is topped off with a sinfully sweet ostrich flat bow. Granted, I don’t expect you to run out and buy the entire runway look that these shoes were shown with, but I can’t help but gaze longingly at Christy Turlington in her ultra-feminine take on power dressing for fall. I haven’t fallen this hard for a Vuitton shoe since Marc Jacobs sent out the first Murakami collection, which, coincidentally or not, featured an equally charming assortment of bow-affixed shoes. Even the price is reasonable–if you compare it to Loubotins or the like. Definitely a worthy investment shoe.
Approximately $1,005, available at select Louis Vuitton locations (866.VUITTON, www.louisvuitton.com)
I LOVE this shoe! The textures, the tones, and the strong lines make it worthy of its name.
