Bruno Frisoni took a fascinating men’s wear approach with the fall Roger Vivier collection. Dubbed “Chez Lui” in a nod to the masculine influences he drew upon, rest assured there’s nothing butch here. Instead, Frisoni infused his Parisian chic aesthetic to the idea of a man clutching closed his jacket and transformed it for the opening of a shoe bootie done in gray flannel with Lesage gold military embroidery. Talk about thinking outside the box right? The iconic brogue? That was reinterpreted into “Franginette” (little sister) to create a patent leather d’orsay-effect pump. I also loved the “Room Service” flat that featured tassels adorning the tips. There was also plenty of bold giraffe-printed pony hair boots to be had–in black, white or orange that were quite statement-makers in the tall version. I’m, of course, dying over the classic Pilgrim pump and flat recast in grey wool with absolutely gorgeous Rococo gold buckles (I secretly wish Bruno made them for men!)
